Jennie Lee: Tomorrow is a New Day

Emma has been involved as a director in development of Jennie Lee: Tomorrow is a New Day since 2019, when it was staged as part of Dunfermline Outwith Festival.

The show is a fantastical exploration of the influential politician’s life, from her roots in a working class Fife mining community, to her foundational involvement in the founding of the NHS, the Open University, and Artistic Policy.

They have been working closely with Matthew Knights of Knights theatre to develop the script over the past five years, supported by Creative Scotland, the Open University and On Fife, leading towards a fully realised mainstage production starring Trish Mullin, Kit Laveri, and George Docherty in Fife, November 2024.
