Sex, Drugs and a Cup of Tea, Emma’s debut as a playwright, found development at the Playwright’s and Librettists Week at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center (US), before premiering at the Wee Red Bar Edinburgh (Twelve Twelve Theatre), and opening at the Edinburgh Fringe 2018 (Pandorum Theatre). The show was then also programmed as part of Outwith Festival.
In the depths of a grotty student flat, the darkly comedic drama unravels the heart of an abusive relationship, centring queer themes and first heartbreaks alongside shrek-related drinking games and surprise bodily fluids.
Praise for Sex Drugs and a Cup of Tea, written and directed by Emma:
**** “just the right amount of filth, comedy and drama that is needed and expected at an evening at the Fringe.” – A Younger Theatre
